Team 05:"Developmental and Financing Alternatives for the Algerian Economy"

A. General Objectives

  • Highlight core concepts relating to enterprises (SMEs, startups, etc.), digitization, economic diversification, development, and econometric software, while identifying their respective characteristics and determinants;
  • Leverage successful macroeconomic and microeconomic international experiences in national economic diversification and digitization to foster economic development; benefit from corporate and entrepreneurial best practices and their financing strategies; while identifying, analyzing, and assessing economic alternatives within economic diversification policies (agriculture, industry, tourism, traditional crafts, etc.);
  • Adopt local policies and strategies aimed at developing various sectors, enhancing their competitiveness and efficiency within an open, integrated, and global business environment driven by competitive advantage;
  • Develop human resources, support high-level talents and executives, and provide incentives to mitigate the risk of brain drain;
  • Study the environment and factors influencing both the Algerian macroeconomy in general and the microeconomic level (economic entities, financial institutions, and entrepreneurial ventures) in particular;
  • Explore methods to advance the digital economy in Algeria, expanding from e-commerce, electronic payment, and digital marketing to the comprehensive digitization of all economic, administrative, and service sectors;
  • Accelerate economic growth in alignment with sustainable development requirements;
  • Cultivate collaborative partnerships with entrepreneurs and economic entities to enrich the scientific and research framework driving leadership, development, and success;
  • Provide an optimal environment and atmosphere for scientific research to support PhD students and faculty members in completing their academic work.

B. Scientific Foundations

  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review of previous studies, references, and research addressing economic and financial institutions, digitization, economic diversification, and economic development;
  • Identify the scientific methodologies and theories explaining the development of institutions (SMEs, financial institutions, startups, and entrepreneurial ventures), economic diversification policies, the digital economy, and economic development;
  • Develop research studies, collective books, symposia, roundtables, national and international conferences, study days, and training sessions focusing on SMEs, financing, entrepreneurship, economic development, economic diversification, and the digital economy;
  • Conduct training workshops on research methodology and the application of econometric modeling tools;
  • Mentor and support PhD students throughout their research to complete and successfully defend their dissertations.
